Conditions of Boarding

FOR THE WELLBEING OF ALL OUR GUESTS, WE WOULD KINDLY ASK YOU TO READ THE FOLLOWING:

ONLY CATS WHICH ARE UP-TO-DATE WITH VACCINATIONS AGAINST FELINE INFLUENZA

AND FELINE INFECTIOUS ENTERITIS CAN BE ACCEPTED FOR BOARDING.

PLEASE NOTE:

Your cat’s first vaccinations are dispensed in two batches and these are normally given three weeks apart. The second of these must have been completed at least seven days before admission to the cattery. This is to allow sufficient time for the immune system to become fully functional, thus protecting your cat from possible infection via other cats.  Subsequently, your cat should receive booster vaccinations          once every twelve months in order to maintain continued immunity.

OWNERS MUST PRODUCE AN UP-TO-DATE VACCINATION CERTIFICATE ON THE DAY

OF ARRIVAL AT THE CATTERY AND WE MUST EMPHASISE THAT NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE.

Cats should also receive regular medication to protect them from fleas and worms, however if this has not been the case, please ensure that such treatments are provided at least three days before boarding your cat with us. We will treat any cat showing the symptoms of infestation and the cost of this treatment will be added to the boarding charges on the day of collection. Please note that we do not accept “Flea Collars” as an adequate form of protection in a cattery environment. For further advice, please consult your vet about flea protection.

In the event of an emergency we may need to evacuate the building quickly, so you must ensure that all cats arrive in secure pet carrying baskets of adequate size and strength. These can then be used by us to carry your cats to safety as quickly as possible. It is very unwise to risk carrying cats in or under your arms while transferring from the car into the cattery as they can become very stressed from the journey and may therefore panic and attempt to escape!

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THESE MEASURES ARE ESSENTIAL IN ORDER TO SAFEGUARD THE

HEALTH AND SAFETY OF YOUR CAT, AS WELL AS THAT OF OTHER CATS BOARDING WITH US.
